- The Biodiversity Heritage Library has an AMAZING Flickr page. I recommend viewing it by albums.
- I started playing Odd Giants, a fan remake of Tiny Speck’s Glitch, my favorite game of all time. I haven’t done a ton in it yet but it looks really promising.
- Last week Cool People Who Did Cool Stuff did two episodes on Baba Yaga, which was really interesting.
- Kate Compton is running a Tracery bot donation drive, if you want to donate your bot’s code to be used by researchers and other good actors.
- If you are on Twitter, you saw this already, but if you aren’t Eli Lilly was forced to issue a correction after an impersonator claimed that insulin would be free now.
- I decided not to let Elon Musk ruin Iain Banks books for me and reread Player of Games. I was surprised at how affecting it was, and how relevant.
- I found Musopen a while back while looking for background music for some of my streams. There’s some nice royalty free recordings of various public domain classical music pieces. (Most classical music is in the public domain, but recordings aren’t.)
- Jenny Nicholson has a new video out. It’s 4 hours and it’s about a Utah theme park you’ve never heard of but it’s great.
- Here’s an economics professor saying the word “beef” 125 times.

Happy Monday! Let’s get to it!
- This is my favorite Wikimedia Commons category: illustrations of fancy chickens.
- I have a new favorite wikipedia list of chicken colors.
- I made a sandwich generator.
- Burrito Innovations is still, after all these years, my favorite Twitter bot.
- I have been playing a game of the TTRPG Blades in the Dark and it’s very good. I’ve been using google docs for character sheet management and playing the Barghest playbook, which I highly recommend.
- Back at the beginning of the pandemic, Friends at the Table released my favorite season for free. It’s called Bluff City, and it’s about a fictional Atlantic City told through a series of short games. It’s a really good jumping off place for Friends at the Table, which is my favorite podcast.
- Michael Hobbes of Maintenance Phase and Peter of 5-4 have a new podcast, If Books Could Kill, about shitty airport books. The first episode is about Freakonomics, which I read at an impressionable age and later learned was full of shit, but I’ve never had it laid fully out before, and that was real useful for me.
- Friend of the blog Nicky Flowers has released a new single.
- Neo-detritus did a test stream that was actually a DJ set and it was really good! Here’s the track list.
- Friend of the blog Piper has been making really cool vtuber avatars for her Twitch streams and you can commission her to make you one.
